 Maria Garcia (6th Grade), along with ELAR Coordinator Beth Davis and ELAR teacher Melanie Corcoran were able to bring home the 1st place trophy in the annual MEF Spelling Bee for Scholarships at the Eldorado Country Club on Feb. 13th.  Friday was a big day at SJMS!
The day started with an AVID mini-field trip to McKinney North High School for an author visit from Neal Shusterman. Fantastic and enlightening. :) Next, the amazing dancer, Hampton Williams performed during all three lunch periods as part of our Black History Celebration. His moves were incredible and his story inspiring. The day ended with an all-school assembly in the gym featuring The Black National Anthem, stepping routines performed by the men of Phi Beta Sigma and a keynote speech by Ja'Mone Smith.
